The Advent of the Christ child has finally begun! It is a season to grow in profound understanding of God’s “smallness” by joining Him in becoming little ourselves. He belongs in the palace of our heart yet instead is relegated to the outskirts of our life as we busy ourselves with worldly things. Advent is the time to make Him the center of our life each day and send worldly attachments into exile.
The world is in chaos. The country is a mess. Within the Church divisions have solidified. In some minds, what appears to be an absence of God becomes false rationale to prove there is no God.
Yet all of this sets the stage for God’s glory to shine.
After completing an exercise in self-concept and self-identity I asked, Who am I? Contrary to what the world teaches, I am not my accomplishments; rather, those are manifestations of God’s gifts to me. I’m just me; that’s who I am. And I’m fine with that.
