The Night of Miracles

The one and very same God who built the mountains, anchored the seas, and lit the heavens with stars will be born this very night. Yet He, the light of Glory, hid His glory and became small. He did not seek fame nor act in grandiose ways. He sought to hold close those who will embrace Him in their heart.

Becoming small again

The Advent of the Christ child has finally begun! It is a season to grow in profound understanding of God’s “smallness” by joining Him in becoming little ourselves. He belongs in the palace of our heart yet instead is relegated to the outskirts of our life as we busy ourselves with worldly things. Advent is the time to make Him the center of our life each day and send worldly attachments into exile.

Who am I?

After completing an exercise in self-concept and self-identity I asked, Who am I? Contrary to what the world teaches, I am not my accomplishments; rather, those are manifestations of God’s gifts to me. I’m just me; that’s who I am. And I’m fine with that.
